VANCOUVER, LA GRAN CIUDAD DEL OESTE - VANCOUVER, THE GREAT WESTERN CITY.

Las siluetas de montañas cubiertas de arboles se transforman en siluetas de unos gigantes rascacielos, ahí está la ciudad, Vancouver. Los colores anaranjados del atardecer y el sol reflejándose en el cristal de los edificios forman un paisaje que despues de venir de la no civilización despierta nuestra atención, ademas nuevo encuentro con el Pacífico que sera nuestro compañero a partir de ahora en nuestra Ruta hacia el sur. Aunque Vancouver tiene fama de lluviosa, nos ha recibido con un sol espectacular durante lo dias que hemos estado, lo cual nos ha permitido disfrutar de sus barrios, sus playas y sus parques y sus mercados de comida y productos agrícolas orgánicos, se lleva lo orgánico en este país. Esta ciudad ciudad es conocida como la ciudad gastronómica de Canadá, así que este fin de semana tiramos la casa por la ventana y a degustamos alguno de esos riquísimos platos de cocina fusón asiatica- occidental , y de unos cockteles espectaculares.

Vancouver tiene varios barrios entre ellos China town con un bonito jardín y una gran variedad de restaurantes, lo que descubrimos es una mendicidad junto con una drogadicción disparatada por estos barrios donde además de ver a decenas de gente tiradas en la calle pinchándose o haciendo cola en alguno de las casas de acogida se mezclan con los turistas, el resto de vancuverianos que salen de copas al bar o al restaurante de moda. Es la otra cara de esta ciudad tranquila, amigable donde la gente en seguida te habla para ayudarte.

Su maravilloso Parque Stanly junto al mar hace como sentirte que no estás en la gran urbe rodeado de coches semáforos y gente deambulando para acá y para allá, aquí pasamos una de las tardes paseando y dándonos unos bañitos mientras una increíble puesta de sol cubre el paisaje permitiendo ver las siluetas de esos personajes que disfrutan como nosotros de los últimos momentos del día.

The silhouettes of mountains covered with trees become silhouettes of giant skyscrapers, there is the city, Vancouver.

The orange colors of the sunset and the sun reflecting on the glass buildings form a landscape that after coming from the non civilization keeps our attention, plus a new meeting with the Pacific that will be our companion from now on in our way to the south.

Although Vancouver has a reputation for rainy weather, it welcome us with an spectacular sunshine during the days we spend here, which has allow us to enjoy its neighborhoods, beaches and parks, food and farmers markets with organic products, it is trend in this country to eat organic products.

This city is known as the gastronomic city of Canada, so this weekend we push the boat out and we taste some of these tasty fusion western-asiatic dishes and some spectacular cocktels.

Vancouver has several neighborhoods among China town with a nice garden and a big variety of restaurants, what we also find is a lot of mendicancy with a crazy drug addiction in these neighborhoods where besides seeing dozens of people lying in the street using drugs or queuing at one of the shelters for food, mingle with tourists, the rest of the vancouverities who go out for drinks to the most trendy bar or restaurant. It is the other side of this quiet and friendly city where people is immediately willing to help you.

Its wonderful Stanly Park next to the sea makes you feel like you're not in the big city surrounded by trafic lights, cars and people passing back and forth, here we spend one afternoon walking around and having a swim while an incredible sunset covers the landscape allowing us to see the silhouettes of these characters who enjoy as we do the last moments of the day.
