Acabamos de dejar a Rush y comienza el viaje, nos dirijimos hacia el Joshua Tree National Park. Hay que pasar la primera noche en nuestra casa rodante y no sabemos muy bien donde, en Estados Unidos, no se puede hacer noche fuera de un camping, pero son caros y no podemos permitirnos pagar 20 o 30 dolares diarios. Según información que hemos cogido de acá y allá, hay unos supermercados llamados Walmart que suelen estar en centros comerciales y a veces te dejan aparcar en el parking y pasar la noche, pero hay que llamar por teléfono y pedir permiso, una hora antes de llegar, llamamos y nos dicen que no es posible, vaya ! Se está haciendo de noche y no hay muchas opciones, así que decidimos plantarnosallí y ver lo que se cuece , vemos a unos chicos descargando mercancias y les preguntamos, y nos dicen que vale, pero que seamos discretos y aparquemos en la parte de atrás... Prueba superada, ahora unas salchichacas y a dormir. Como todavía estamos bajo la influencia de jet lag, a las 5:30 estamos arriba y aprovechamos para llegar antes de que llegue mas gente al parque y le quite la magia a este increible lugar , como es tan temprano no han abierto las casetas de pago ya que la entrada con tu vehiculo son 20 $, habrá que pagar a la salida. Las mágicas y caprichosas formas de los árboles de Joshua dan bienvenida a los visitantes a este parque desierto, donde convergen los desiertos de Sonora y Mojave.

Hemos tenido la suerte de estar prácticamente sólos, nuestra vista sólo es capaz de alcanzar estos maravillosos árboles y las curiosas rocas que los rodean.

Exploramos el valle escondido y las rocas de Wonderland antes de ir a Keys view donde hay una vista increíble del valle de Coachela que en los días despejados permite ver hasta Méjico.

La calidad mística de este paisaje ha inspirado a innumerables artistas, el más famoso de la banda de rock U2 con su álbum – The Joshua Tree. Nos a cautivado este sitio y queremos quedarnos a hacer fotos al atardecer y cenar con unas vistas alucinantes, como cuando salimos ya se ha hecho de noche, han cerrado las casetas de pago, nos ha salido gratis... Puede que esto sea el principio de una estrategia de ahorro.

We just left Rush and the trip begins, we are heading to Joshua Tree National Park. We have to spend the first night in our motorhome and we do not really know where. In the United States, you are not allow to overnight outside a campsite, but they are expensive and we cannot afford to pay 20 or 30 dollars per day. According to information that we have gather from here and there, there are some supermarkets called Walmart that are often in Big shopping malls and sometimes they let you park in the parking lot and spend the night, but you have to call and ask for permission, an hour before arriving we call and they tell us that is not possible, It's getting dark and there are not many options, so we decide to go there and see what's going on, we see some guys unloading goods and we ask them, they say that is ok but we need to be discreet and park in the back side. Test passed !, now some sausages and get some sleep.

As we are still under the influence of the jet lag, at 5:30 we're up and this give us the opportunity to arrive in the park before more people arrive and this incredible place lose its magic, as it is so early the toll booths at the entrance are still closed so we avoid to pay the $ 20 fee per vehicle, we will need to pay then when we go out.

The magical and whimsical looking Joshua trees welcome visitors to this wilderness park where de Sonora and Mojave Desserts converge. We have been lucky to be practically alone, our view is only able to reach these wonderful trees and the curious rocks that surround them. We explore the Hidden Valley and Wonderland Rocks before heading to Keys view where there is an amazing view of the Coachela valley on a clear day you can see to Mexico. The mystical quality of this raw, boulder- strewn landscape has inspired countless artists, the most famous rock band U2 with his album – The Joshua Tree. We are captivated for this place and want to stay longuer to take pictures at sunset and dinner with the amazing views, when we left is already night, and the toll booths are closed already, so toll free for us. Maybe this is be the beginning of a savings strategy.
